KAYAK SPORTFISHING Shootout Rules
Bass Division Rules
- Artificial baits only . Scent is ok.
- Live well, mesh game bag or floating basket required
- Bass species eligible are spotted, calico and sandbass
- Bass must be alive to be weighed in
- No more than 10 bass submitted for weigh in (bass scorecard has 10 frames)
Halibut Division Rules
- Submit one fish for weigh in
- Live, fresh dead, cut baits and lures are ok (i.e. any legal bait)
- Heaviest halibut wins
Sign in, launch, land and weigh in at Baby Beach, Dana Point Harbor only. Fishing boundaries are open. Tandems are ok! Each angler must have a separate game bag, basket or live well.
*Paddle power only (no motors). Exceptions may be made if you have an injury or physical disability that inhibits your ability to paddle.
All rules and regulations will be in strict accordance with the rules and regulations of the California Department of Fish and Game.
