Bass Weigh Boats
The weigh boats may be contacted either by vhf radio or cell phone.
They won’t enter the harbor nor go within the restricted vessel buoy line.
The weigh boats can of course only be in one place at a time.
It's the kayak angler's responsibility to anticipate this.
If you're planning on using the weigh boat towards the end, please don't wait until
12:30pm to contact them.
The cut off time for fishing and the bass weigh boats are 1:00pm.
At
12:30pm, if they aren’t there already, the weigh boats will head back towards the vicinity
Doheny State Beach.
This offers anglers with bass still requiring submission an approximate area to
paddle towards as time is running out.
If there's a backup of kayak anglers at the boat just before the 1:00pm cut off time,
anglers within 30 yards of the boat by 1:00pm sharp will still be allowed to submit their
bass for weigh in regardless of the 1:00pm fishing and weigh boat cut-off time.
