I went out of leo this morning with my dad, brother and and friend. there was lots of bait working. I got a baby white seabass, Calico, sand bass, and asorted rockfish. I was a great day, as usuual. I brought my freshwater bass rod w/8lb and my calcutta 400 w/15 lb. I was using my 8 lbs set up when i hooked in to something really big i could feel the weight of it and see the head shakes! at fist i thought it was a big halibut until it started to tow me then i knew that it was somthing else. after fighting it for 30 - 45 minute. I made on last run and took me almost to my knot. I had 4 or 5 wraps left. so i cut the swim bait off my other rod and spliced it to the 15 lb set up and by this time it had go in to the kelp and i could feel the line rubbing it. Then al of a sudden the was just the feel of kelp and i reeled it in to find my fish trap gone #$#!%@#$!!!!!!!!!!! I will never know what it was but i was think mabe a Black seabass! scince you got one Jas. As for everyone one else. My bro got 8 assorted rockfish. Chase got * assorted rock fish, and my dad 5. So all in all it was a great day even though i didn't get that big boy.
