: Hi, I am just embarking on my kayak fishing career off the rather grey coast of SE England.
: (my first, and only trip so far, produced 4 nice bass(all put back))
: I have read all I can find online regarding rigging, and have now purchased a tite lock rod holder. It comes with a square mounting plate with four screw holes. My dilemma is on how to fasten the lttle rascal. I have a "frenzy" Ocean Kayak and therefore have no internal or underneath access, will 4 short self tapping screws be sufficient or should i use glue as well? and if so, what type of glue is ok?..araldite maybe?..The plate is encased in a plastic boot by the way. Any help would be welcome.
: Thanks for your time.

I haven't used them yet, but I've heard some success using wellnuts. I'm not sure if they're too wide for the screw holes in the scotty mount. I think they would work. They are strong and you don't need to access the inside of your kayak to use them.
