: I was drifting at trancas a couple of weeks back and noticed a jelly fish going right under my boat. I was fishing with my legs over the side. Has anyone ever been stung by a jelly fish? What would be the best thing to do if it did happen? Just kind of scared me to see it so close to my legs.
They sell a jelly fish stinging treatment. I saw one at http://www.diversdirect.com.
My wife works in the ER. I asked her about it before............I'm trying to remember if it was "warm" water that was suppost to help (don't try anything I'm suggesting until I confirm).
I remember some Zuma lifeguards treating a little girl with wet sand. They covered the whole area.
You ever eat jellyfish? Some of the tiny tropical jellyfish (Philippines) are sought out for meal time. The ones I saw people eating didn't have stinging cells. Though I'm not really up for a nice fresh bowl of "jelly fish". You can have my portion. lol.
