I fished the 5-½ foot incoming tide from 5am to 10am. Launched at the Coronado fairy landing and fishing pier and paddled up stream to North island where the aircraft carriers are docked, from there I drifted with the incoming tide (paddled only to stay in the channel) to the Coronado bay bridge.
Using assorted plastics with ¼ oz lead heads I caught nothing but spotted bay bass to 14”. Caught 6 fish total. The best colors where brown and green. The wind was light and the water felt warm, there was a noticeable lack of boat traffic (I guess that summer is officially over) and mine was the only fishing yak on the water but there were 1/2 dozen other paddlers just touring around (mostly young women). There was a hand full of private boats fishing below the bridge where the bay channel meets the channel to Glorieta bay.
