Launched with my friend Steven aka "Sashimi" on my Malibu 2 this morning. It was his second kayakfishing trip. We had a nice dry launch with the only a foot high surf. We started fishing around 10:30 am. Fishing was pretty slow until the wind picked up. We both hung lost fish at the same time as we got near the kelp line. Sashimi hooked up his first Calico on plastic today. It was like loosing his virginity right on the b@ss. We caught most of our fish after lunch time. The highlight of the day was a 8 pound calico that put a nice bendo in my rod and burning dragz off my Penn. His attempt on sabotage my line and run for his life was useless. I had to turn his head out of the kelp. I didn't know what it was until I saw that big nugget coming straight up to the yak with a kelp stringer around his lips. We took a nice picture and let him go . JerryG, Ricardo, Andy, and Waljojo...I wish you guys were there...
