I really like Surf to Summit's new Drifter seat. It's called the "Drifter" because it was designed to be a fix for the wet seat complaints many Drifter owners expressed.

The seat works similar to that of a booster chair, though with less lift (I'd say about a 3" lift). It's a low back seat with a nice utility pouch in the back.

There are a few other advantages to the "Drifter" seat as well. When using it in my Pro Explorer, it propped me up into a better paddling position. The Pro Explorer doesn't have a wet seat problem what so ever. Though I did feel a little too sunk into the seat well before the lift (a seat pad may work as well). With the Drifter seat, my posture was corrected. The load was taken off of my lower back and transferred into my lats, shoulders, stomach and arm muscles.

This is a niche seat. It's not meant for touring style SOTS. Since you do raise your center of gravity a little, you will only find this seat useful in the more stable kayaks (Drifters, Pro Explorers, Fish N Dives, some tandems, etc;).

I don't think the seat is up on their site yet, though it should be some time soon.
