I have a scrambler XT and love it. Only have the front hatch open, have not bothered with the smaller hatch.
Very stable, can hold plenty of gear, light enough to carry by yourself , dont think you can do that with the bigger units, handles surf fine, etc...
Have caught very large fish with it.
Basically, think about how big of a tackle ho you will be. I carry 2 rods, fish finder, bait bucket, dry bag and have plenty of room. Cant see how i would want to carry more stuff or need more gear than I can take with the scrambler.
Paddle relativly easy, can handle surf, I can carry it to the beach solo, or put it on my roof rack solo. I know that this is not possible with some boats.
I had a scrambler for years before, and liked it very much, however you have a lot more options with the XT.
I could send you a link with to get a rough idea of how to rig with a crate etc.
Rhino has the best idea, try before you buy.
