: I had to returned my pro explorer becouse it was taking lots of water, good thing I had a one gallon zip lock bag to get the water out...Very much dissapointed with the soft thin plastic,I don't why JAS gave it such a good review. There is no comparison with major brands!Because of their bad product I lost $200 on it/shipping.

I've never seen you post before tilapia. (Sounds a little suspicious to me, but I'll address your post; I'd still like to verify your concerns).
I haven't heard of anyone encountering this problem. Who are you talking to at Malibu Kayaks about your lifetime warranty? Let me know your name (email me) and I'll discuss the concerns with them provided you can verify you bought one.

If you did have a tiny hole (defect), Malibu Kayaks wouldn't be the first manufacturer that happened to (ALL kayak manufacturers!). Every major manufacturer has experienced defects at some point. If you had a legitamate problem with yours, you would be the first Pro Explorer I have heard of. It's possible you won't be the last. Just as Cobra, Ocean Kayak, Wilderness, etc have all had a kayak or two come out of the mold "not so perfect".

I would have to see your kayak. Is it possible it's coming through a hatch. How much water are you taking on? How long are you on the water? I would say a cup is acceptable, but anymore than that I consider too much.

"JAS" recommended the Pro Explorer because he has had GOOD experience with it. I ALWAYS qualify my opinions based upon my experience. I ALWAYS clarify what my "experience" is on one.

I've now had mine for 4 months and still like it a lot.

Thin plastic? I've found that the plastic was very thick in most areas. Thicker than my other kayaks even. Though with thickness comes more weight.

I don't inspect every kayak. I endorse Ocean Kayak BIG TIME! Does that mean that I am to be held accountable if an Ocean Kayak owner finds that there is a flaw in their kayak. I bet you the next Ocean Kayak owner and the one after that doesn't have that same problem. Defects can happen. Call the company and hold them accountable. I do want the good and the bad about all the kayaks out on the market. As well do the manufacturers so they can improve upon their products.
