I launched from Laurence St in Point Loma at 2pm and landed there just after dark at about 6pm. It was sunny but not warm. There was a strong wind out of the North that would have quickly blown me across the bay without the aide of my 20” drift chute; it STOPPED me like a rock. There was a 5’ incoming tide and the boat traffic was pretty light.
I fished between the shoal and the Main channel (see red mark on map http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=11&n=3618545&e=478475) in waters from 25’ to 65’. I stayed mostly in front of the shoal but did drift all the way to the Shelter Island fishing pier a couple of times.
I caught fish on plastics, krock (dead sticked 1 foot of the bottom), and squid strips.
