I would like to see some sort of impartial federal committee (ya right) appoint an investigative "objective" team to look into how our fishery management/bureaucratic process works. How much logic was really used to support this action? How can such definitive, radical and extreme actions be implemented when the basis for it is so ambiguous. Is this about greasing palms and owing favors?

Does this mean that CISCOS and other landings are going to be sending out 4-5 Party Boats every day to fish along the mainland's coastline? Did the commission even think about the impact it's going to have on the commercial sport fishing fleet's alternative fishing areas? Expect Deep Hole, Arco Island and a bunch of local reefs up and down the coast to get fished out. I respect the party boat's dilemna, but I think the arrangement could divide sportfishing groups up even more.

All of you fisherman that like to fish the surf and wade fish and kayak fish better get off your bums and fight back, that is what we are doing in Texas. They are trying to close down our beaches that we have a right to fish on and drive on. You can do more together than you can alone! Start now, not when its too late. Get involved and find out what the people you voted for are really doing in office. Put pressure on them and make phone calls and write letters. You have to get organized and know your rights! California's beach access rights are being violated as we speak! They can not deny you access to the beach, by building privacy fences that extend from their house to the beach. But if you sit on your bum and wait for everyone else to do it for you, you will go to the beach to fish one day and there will be a sign that says no fishing allowed.
