: I have a scupper pro TW and was wondering if it is ok to rig a drift chute on the stern side. I don't like obstructions in the front of me. Are there any dangers of doing it this way?
The only danger I could see would be is if you couldn't readily access or reach the teather and drift chute.
Though "fishing" with the drift chute off the stern could be a trick. Rod holders in front of you will help.
I don't do it often, but rigging it to your bow can be cool (drifting backwards). Seems like you'd have more options that way than rigging it to the stern. My preferred method is off of port or starboard. I like the perpendicular angle for drifting and fighting fish. Creates more drag.
