: If it is for your kayak only, go with something simple and make sure it is waterproof. A unit that can be used outside a drybag. The only time you are going to use it is to locate an area you have coordinates for or finding your way back in the fog. The only thing I can see bad about the mapping feature is if it drains the bateries faster than a non mapping feature.Randy is a fan of the Rhino and it is very cool looking, but you must consider the following. The Rhino is a FSR with a GPS. IF you are going to go Ocean Kayak Fishing, carrying a FRS can put your life in extreme danger. The Coast Guard and other boaters monitor VHF not FRS. The Coast Guard can triangulate your position based off a VHF radio signal. A cell phone for a back up is wise, but only for back up. With the potential opportunity for winds to blow you out to sea, a VHF and cell phone have a better chance for your rescue verses a FSR and cell phone. I carry a VHF, cell phone and GPS. The Rhino is probably very nice for lake fishing where VHF is not used.-Ted
