: Any one have any good pictures on how they rigged their tarpon 16?Thanks,JIm
Here is a pic of where I put the ramballs for the tarpon 16 for the ram tube rodholder. I use both positions at times, but the one closer to the seat gets used a lot more. You can stand the tube straight up to just have a place to drop your rod for rigging or paddling and you can angle it up and over to the side for trolling when you want to see the rod tip. Use well nuts for this one because you can't reach it and use stainless nuts and bolts for the front one, if you do it. I also put in two flush mounts on the rear of the yak with nuts and bolts. They are very strong and simple and work well. All of these choices leave you with a boat that is easy to load on your car, because nothing is left sticking up. To this I added a portable fishfinder, gluing the transducer in the hull just behind the front hatch with 4200, and when I want to use it I just run the wire right out of the loose fitting hatch without making any holes and just stick the main unit under the front hatch strap.
You can easily add a milk crate over the rear hatch and tie to the sloted plastic pieces that hold the straps with 1/4 inch cord. You can then put a bait tank in the crate or you can just tie one on in place of the crate. I have done both.
Well that should get you started. You sure are going to love gliding along in your tarpon.
Fish On,
Seakarp
