Unfortunately I got in some 120s and then someone turned on the deep freeze back here in the east. So I've yet to paddle it. Its hard when your nearby testing water is frozen. A good buddy of mine who has 2 Tarpon 160s spent a day paddling one. He like it a lot. It was fast and stable and basically performed very well. I know a couple guys in Texas who have them. They love them.
As to the rear hatch I don't like it. Its small and waists a lot of space. You can get rods in the front hatch.
Soon there's going to be a new 14' kayak specifically designed for fishing. Its going to have a large cargo hatch in the cockpit for easy access to gear and allow for rod loading and retrieval. Lots of other features too. There should be a website in a few weeks with a lot more info on the yak. Appropriately its going to be called the "Fisherman".
