: Kinda off the wall and not really related to kayaks, but hope no one minds...its Christmas!Hope someone can suggest a place or two I can take visiting relatives to see sea lions...hopefully with a view and restaurants. I Live in Dana Point and dont know anywhere around here you can see them unless you are on the water but figure there must be somewhere in San Diego or LA area they hang out (while not under kayaks). Seems everyone has fish stolen but I havent had that problem here. Im guessing Kayakers will know where sea lions are since they get in close to beaches and animals. My wife remembers eating at some place around San Diego but cant remember where. All my talk about kayaking here has got the boys coming out excited and hope the weather will allow them to get out in the harbor anyway. Wish it was wwarmer!
Bob,
In LA you can go to Fisherman’s Village in Marina Del Rey, On Fiji Way and eat at Shanghia Reds. The Sunday brunch is large and decent. The place is very comfortable, particularly for a family affair and there is a bait barge out the windows with dogs guaranteed. You can walk right down on to the bait barge for a few minutes and get up close and personal with the fish scaring, bait snatching, dinner stealing, cuddly beasts that they are.
It’s a good place to have a nice family meal.
Have fun,
Seakarp
