You're right I would catch more fish with live bait. I havn't done very much live bait fishing from a private boat or my kayak. I would like to give it a try sometime. I fished that same area in my friends boat last week and he landed a 23" halibut on a frozen 'chovie. I was hoping to catch his big brother, but it didn't work out that way. When I was heading back in I saw several private and rental boats fishing under the Coaonado Bridge. I didn't see anyone landing anything, but I plan to give that area a try next time. Give me an e-mail if you want to go fishing some time. I have some time off, so I can go pretty much any day of the week.
