: For anyone in the Middle part of Calif, there is a scuba center in Sact. that has fish stringers for like $13.00. It can be found in the spearfishing section of the catalog under the trident diving equipment.Just bought one so I would know.Link provided:
Davey, the short clip I used to run a few media tests shows my friend Dave using the game clip in combination with a waterproof retractor. I wouldn't use it on a fish over 50lbs, but anything under that seems controllable; keep Murphy's Law in mind at all times, lol(last thing you want is to secure a huge frest fish to your kayak without taking the necessary steps to "mellow" him out first(gaff, club, etc;). I usually gaff the fish, keeping fish below the water line. While the fish is gaffed, I'll slip the stringer in to secure it. I hate to admit it, but I lost a prize halibut a couple of years ago after gaff. Ever since using the stringer/retractor I haven't lost any.
