: Megs,I'm not sure who offers demos on these seats. You might want to try putting in a couple calls to your closest kayak shops. It sounds like raising you up out of the seatwell a bit will remedy your situation. What you could try first just to make sure that would be the fix is try putting some sort of cushion or pad under your existing kayak seat. Be sure it's firm enough so that you don't just sink into the cushion. The Drifter seat is about a 3" lift. The foam is stiff enough so it doesn't compress much at all if any, once sitting down. It really helps prop you up out of that well. It puts your body more true to a 90 degree angle. Funny how a seat developed as a fix for one kayak (Ocean Kayak's Drifter) can offer other totally different advantages to another (Pro Explorer).I also like the new GTS fishing seat. That seat combined with a "Hot Seat" pad (STS) is a nice combo for my Pro Explorer as well. It doesn't prop me up as high, but the position is better for rougher weather (surf, wind, swells, etc;). I love the Drifter seat, and on the Pro Explorer it doesn't compromise your stability. I just think that Though being up that high at some point could be a drawback in the wind. Just keep in mind the advantages of one style Vs the other. It sounds like the Drifter would be your answer. The seat gives paddling a totally different feel from what I experienced up to that point. It is a different feel, but only took me an hour or so to get use to it. Makes your body more like an "L" rather than a "V" if that makes sense.Btw, I haven't seen a post yet that was too long. Also, there might be other anglers that may have had a chance to compare seats, solutions, experiences. They may have some fixes or solutions to the same concerns. Guys?jas
