: : : No offence guy,But that rig wouldn't work for the type of fishing that most of us persue in So Cal. If it works for you in your neck of the woods then more power to you. Robert Robert,This rig is more stable than any kayak or canoe and very comfortable too. What type of paddleboat do you think is best for the kind of fishing you practice, and why? Yoav Yoav,Most of us don't have a problem so much with the stability of sit-on-top kayaks. Sit-on-tops are generally as stable as you need. Some models vary in stability of course. If I was a flyfisherman, it's possible that I may like a different kayak, one I can stand up in for spotfishing. But it would limit my use to lakes and calm harbors. Since so much of our fishing grounds are coastal, we have launching to contend with. Your kayak and surf do not mix well together. Not sure how well your kayak would fair rolling in the surf. What happens to the gear when you get ejected from the kayak and the kayak rolls and rolls in the wave zone? We can also get wind gusts up to 40-50 knotts(not often but it can happen). Even if surf wasn't a factor, I believe the threat of wind, even if the gusts are only 15-20 knotts, would make for even tougher paddling than a sit on top. Then there is landing. Rocks, course sand, etc; The plastic can take some good abuse. Very nice looking boat though. I think you'll a majority of the anglers taking to sit-on-top plastic kayaks. They're easy to modify (outfit)and easier to fish from than a sit inside. jas
Whoa!!!Oops, I thought this was a different boat we were talking about. Someone has a fiberglass designed sit inside that they've been posting on the boards about(different from yours). I guess I was confused.
I don't know what anglers would find this boat fishable. Even for pond fishing I couldn't see using it. It's like a floating foot stool more than it is a boat or kayak.
