: If you were a designer, how would you design your ultimate yak. This question has been asked in the past, but I wonder if perseptions on fishing kayaks have changed. Length, width, hatches, hobie pedal thing, TW or no TW. In the past everyone thought the scupper was it period, now I see more people riding wider yaks. Let me know what you guys think.Vic
It'd be nice if you could get it all in one kayak, but I think that's a task yet to be accomplished by any of the manufacturers. I have leaned more towards a more stable kayak as the one I use most. I mix it up though. I still love my Scupper Pro TW but I don't mind giving up a little bit of paddle ease for better stabitity, more importantly for me was the deck space. I like having more deck useable deck space, as well functional center hatches.
The Prowler looked like it combined those two ideas but I think it's weight exceeded marketability. Just my $.02. Malibu Kayaks is coming out with the Extreme. A little longer than the Pro Explorer I believe.
