The Scupper Pro TW is close, but the lack of center hull access is the problem.

Center hull access is not something to be taken lightly. The Scrambler XT is a prime example of why the entire hull design needs to be considered for the access. If you add a center hatch on the Scupper Pro TW the same sinking hazard would exist as on the Scrambler XT. The size of the hatch is important as well. Looking at the Fish N Dive and the Pro Explorer you can see examples of center hatches designed to accomodate the Fisherman. These hatches are not mere additions, but rather real useful large center hatches for unmatched hull access.

The draw back to these hatches is that they require a larger beam. I think the question may be better answered when the Extreme is released, as to what happens when you have a longer kayak with a beam in the 31" range.

While the Scupper Pro TW is a great kayak and can be adapted to fishing very nicely; sometimes I just have to think about where I am and that my paddling for the day is not very far. The trade off for better deck layout and hull access make for a more comfortable day on the water.

I figure a 14'-15' kayak with a beam of 31" a larger center hatch, large bow hatch, tank well and gunwhales large enough to handle flushmounts.
