Sheephead are one of my favorite fish for pan frying, they have a nice flacky white meat that is sooo tender.

I get ghost shrimp from BIG Fish & Tackle in Seal Beach. They have the biggest and freshest ghost shrimp around. Always take muscles as a back up bait, sometimes they won't touch the shrimp but hit the muscles. You can get partially cooked muscles out of the shell at any asian market, for cheap.

When fishing for Sheephead, Cabazon, Sculpin, and Whitefish are always nearby. And they'll hit anything the Sheephead will. But who knows what to take home with the regs changing every month.
