My Brother and I took out new FND's down to Cortez for our first ever trip south of the boarder. My son 12 was also along... Well I have to say that I truly fell in Love with that and I can see a long term relationship in the making....LOL WOW It was not only breath taking it was a fish a cast... (REALLY) The only time you didnt catch one is if we missed the hit or hits.. Truly unbelieveable...... I had a 12 inch bass come 6 inches out of the water to grab a grub in "mid air" UNREAL.. We had two bass and the same hooks. When you pulled the bass up the the side of the yak you could see unhooked bass trying to snatch the lure out of the hooked bass's mouth.. When they bit the tails off the grubs we would throw what was left of it and the Bass, triggerfish and Corvina could be seen fighting of it.. Unbelievible..:O)
We caught
TMTC (to many to count)over 200 Spotted Bay Bass to 16 1/2 inches
10 Corvina to 20 inches
8 Triggerfish to 4 lbs
1 Barracuda
1 Serria
1 Sculpin
1 really big hit and run on 6 lb before breaking (due to teeth I think)

We arrived Saturday Afternoon and broke camp Monday Morning. 11 hr trip to LA with all the pot holes, Bulls in the road, and kayaks on top. But well worth it. We had a pod of small dolphins come visit us
(15 yrds) That was the best part of the trip. Unbelievible.... We did get blow of the water Sunday about 11 am with 20 knot winds, or else
our numbers would have been even better.. At night you could hear lots
of coyotes singing in the darkness,, (that was amazing). Not to mention the stars, the water, the sunsets, and the solitude , being truly in the middle of nowhere... I have a few pictures from my digital (but my battery went out on me, which was dissapointing after taking a week prepping for the trip. LOL I will share regular pics as soon as I get them developed and but through the scanner. Sorry for the long post, but I thought I would share..
