: Jas, do you launch kayaks at Salsi? I surf there as much as I can(OK, twice a year with wife permision) Im impressed by anybody lugging a yak down the gully there in front of the main peak. I take it that is a two man effort? i was down there about a month ago, and the taco stand in the grove is now open during the winter in the evenings!! ( although they charge way to much for a taco:(. The place has come a long ways, they even have running water for rinse off
Awwweee Salsipuedes...the memories. I have a few pictures burried in the back of the photos section. I learned kayak fishing at Salsipuedes. Two guys riding tandem on a Malibu II trying to get out past the some seriously thumping surf. Amusing at times, but we were always able to get out eventually. That's how I did if for my first few years. We can never seem to avoid the sets on the way back in. Back then, we always went for it, hopeful we'd ride one right up to the beach(rocks).......lol. Funny stuff if you were onshore watching. We always got caught in a barrel or pulled over the falls.
The taco stand...the last I was down there, it was run by the old lady, I think the madre of the jefe who collects the dinero (I'm fluent, lol). She's also the secret tequila bartender senorita.
