made bait @ the little pier @ o6oo. good 4-7" smelt. drove around to the beach and launched to ankle slappers next to the getty. high tide and slooooowww fishing just like yesterday til low tide. anchored between 2 boilers and dropped in. . . bammm! and quickly sawed off twice. went from the 6lb to the 20lb with a 12lb f/c leader. . . bammm .... fight... sawed off again#~`**?? went to the the straight 20lb big game and a light wire #2 circle hook and bammm! this time no saw off. hauled in a personal record ( as recorded on my rapala digital scale ) 4.1 lb calico. its was just over 17". dropped again and bam ( notice just one "m" ). considerably smaller calico. also caught large smelt on the gitzit mini jigs. drifted the beach 1/4 to 1/2 mi. pro nada. tls & clks,
