Yep....made the long hull (not that long) Left the house at 2:45am to go hook up with a few friends in La Jolla. Super cool launch. Drive right up on the sand, drop the gear, and go park. Ceviche led the way and we followed. The guy's a fishing engineer....I'm serious. After a nice paddle past the reserve we made some bait. Fly lined some smelts for nothing. Though we got into a really nice sand bass bite. The
Fish Traps were getting slammed on the drop, though towards the bottom. My largest 22". A ton of incidental blue perch and one baracuda.
Came back in without wrecking and proved to myself my Scupper TW is surfable. What a blast! I'm beat.
Btw,I heard the Iceman was on the water but didn't get a chance to hook up. Next time.
