I thought about going the bare bones route when I was getting ready to get my Pro Explorer. Then I got to thinking about all the running around collecting eyelets, the price of the hatches, all the labor involved in installing them, and it didn't seem worth it to me. For $699 includind seat, paddle, thigh straps, tank straps, bolth hatches, 2 flushmount rod holders. You can't beat it. I'd be willing to bet that the new Extreme will come well equipped for a reasonable price. I can't wait to try one out on the water.
