: Sunday, 5Am loaded 4 kayaks, Al, Greg, Corey, and gear in my truck and headed south to try yet another spot south of the border. After a couple stops we arrived at Salsipuedes around 7:30AM. Beautiful campground, sites in the olive grove, green hillside with a small herd of wandering sheep and chickens here and there. There is a very steep 50 yd cut down to the water. We doubled up bringing the kayaks down. I made my last trip down just in time to see Greg sliding down the steep, smooth rock beach into the surf. (Chuck style). There were occasional 3 foot sets breaking in tight with nice intervals.
I'm super jealous!!! Sounds like you guys worked it pretty well. I swore the last time I went that I would bring a pulley system to lower the kayaks down the cliff. It can be a tough trek down there. We usually do a trip the weekend after July 4.
Everytime I've been to Salsipuedes, there's some cyclone or storm off the coast sending storm swells = big surf. I don't think I've made a dry landing there yet.
