: : NMSG I like to use a 48" floating gaff, 3"hook, wrapped around the shaft of the gaff is the F&G Measuring sticker, with a clear tape overwrap. Nice to have a measuring devise in hand when the time comes. Longer gaff gives you some leverage and ability to keep sharp teeth and chomping jaws away from you, lots of people like the shorter gaffs, but not me. Rhino
