: great post and point. i talked to the honcho lady @ the dgf about that and she said she had never considered it.reading your post makes me want to revisit the convo.. i was thinking something more along the lines of a stamp than an exemption for yaks. you are right about the negligable effect of yakers, tubers etc. on the fish populations. when i brought that up to her she said " hmm. . i dont think we've ever done a study on that ". perhaps i'll get her address and we can lobby for some type of consession? i'm sure most yakfishermen concur. . . . to be continued!cliff a.
Cax and floatin cowboys,
Thank you for the answer.
I tried to get a name at the dfg from their website
www.dfg.ca.gov, but i failed. The "contact us" doesn't
work.
Cax, it seems that you know a people at the dfg, "the
hondo lady", what is her role at the dfg?
I think it is a very good idea to get her
address and to send her a proposal. On my side
i will try to get a contact at the dfg too.
The first thing we could do is to first
write a right proposal/case.
Then have a petition on this proposal,
then send that to the dfg?
The more difficult i guess, is to have enough people to sign
the proposal.
I will try to write a proposal based on the floatin cowboys
definition:
"Rockfish exemption stamp for self propelled, singleman vessel"
Regards,
Pierre
