: : Did the same thing except I mounted a Scotty bar with rod holders on each end instead of a single rod holder. One is tube for spinning and other is the type you have for conventional reels. Mounted a ram electronics holder in the center and put my GPS unit on that. Works great since it allows me to move it around as needed.: Here's where I mounted My Scotty rod holder on my Pro Explorer. I use it for trolling and drifting. It keeps the rod out of the way while I'm paddling when I troll. It was a little awkward to get to at first. But I am used to it now and I probably wouldn't want it any other way. Having the rod in front of you when you troll is a great thing. You can watch the tip of the rod when you are trolling plugs. When you get the right speed and the plug gets the right action the rod tip starts throbing. When your plug gets fouled with eel grass or kelp you can tell right away. It's difficult to see this when the rod is behind you. I love it for deadsticking plastics and frozen anchovies. I also use my 10 lb spinning outfit with this set up. I used some 1/4-20 screws, some large fender washers, and some nylock nuts.
Hook 1 (www.kayakfishinggear.com) have those. I recently added a page for accessory bars (I'm still working on it). The pictures of the Scotty bar mounted on a yak are from the people at Hook 1. They were nice enough to donate the pictures.
