Jack,
I matched a piece of tupperware with my battery. If you melt a small piece of the rim (where the lid snaps on to), the lid can be snapped on even with the battery wires attached. Btw, I just used a hot nail to melt an opening on the rim for the battery wires.
I glued 2 pieces of pool noodle inside my hatch. The strips of noodle are close enough to when I place the battery in between the 2 strips, the battery is "hugged". This prevents the battery from sliding around.
