La Jolla Shores is the place. You drive your car or truck right down on the beach and unload. I can't think of too many other places in Southern California where you can do this. Go down there at about 5:30 A.M. on a Saturday or a Sunday and tag along with some of the guys. Almost all of them are totally cool and will show you the ropes. You can learn a hell of a lot from these guys. They are some of the best kayak fishermen in Southern California, if not the world. Here is the link to the map and directions.
