Tank Well for Tarpon 160 is on its way
The yearly Canoe and Kayak demo day for Herb Baur’s Sporting Goods, took place on the San Joaquin River just outside of Fresno
last Saturday April 19th. I was there on behalf of Wilderness Systems, helping out with demos and speaking to the crowd (which was an excellent one by the way) on kayak fishing and how to rig kayaks for fishing. I had my Tarpon 160 and 120 on display fully rigged. It was great to see the huge interest in kayak fishing .
As we were unloading kayaks and accessories I saw a oblong shaped container with a hatch for a lid. To make a long story short It was the prototype tank well for the Tarpon 160.
I got to try it out for a while and here is my 2cents.
The Tarpon 160 tank well is designed so all you have to do is remove the old hatch, slide the tank well down into the hatch opening and simply strap the new hatch down. The tank bottom has a rubber lip around the rim just like the hatch, allowing you to to use the bottom by it self as an opened well . Top and bottom together give you the option of a cold box . way to go wilderness Systems.
