I'm not jas, but when you'll be selecting a spot for the puck, err on the side of caution and move it closer to where you sit. The rationale behind it, is that closer to the bow makes the bottom of the boat stick out of the water (in waves, faster paddling). Then there is a layer of air between the boat and water and the FF goes stupid.
Finally I glued the puck well inside, but had to pry it loose with a chisel because of the aforementioned problem.
Boat is OK SPTW, BTW, FWIW.
