: Freddie,I would call some local tackle shops in the areas you intend to fish. They can give you up to date reports on whats biting and what they are biting on. Get a tide book so you can follow the tides. Show up at the beach an hour before high tide. I have found the fishing to be best then. Check out Western Outdoor News. They give surf fishing reports every week from Santa Barbara to San Diego. I'm not sure what part of L.A. you plan to fish. I know there is a bait and tackle shop in The Malibu area called Whylie's. The seem to cater to surf fishermen in that area. In the South Bay area try a place called Just Fishing in Redondo Beach. If you are fishing the Point Ferman/Cabrillo area try Paul's in San Pedro. Hope this helps.
