: I live in Los Angeles and have a kayak ready for fishing. I would like to fish down NewPort or San Pedro, Long Beach area.

For San Pedro, I only fish Cabrillo beach. If you do a search for Los Angeles County Beaches, I believe you can find it and the directions. For Long Beach, I fish Cherry Beach and Grissom Island areas occasionally. Both are in the general vicinity of the Long Beach Convention Center. For Orange County/Newport areas, I launch from 15th st/Balboa ave by PaddlePower Kayaks, or farther down the penninsula at "K" street. At one time I had all these online with maps, but the site is now defunct. Using mapquest though, you should be able to find your way.
