There is lots of excellent info here at kayaksportfishing.com. Go back to the home page and follow the navigation on the left of frame to 'Equipment', 'Rigged Kayaks' and especially 'Guides'. A single trip with a kayak fishing guide can save you lots of hours and $$ in trial and error.

Also, try going through the 'Selection Guide' at the link below. It has general info on how to find a fishing kayak that's right for you. Then contact paddle shops and test paddle as many models as you can before you buy.

I don't sell kayaks but I'll be at Dana Point Sunday morning with an Ocean Kayak Scrambler that you can test paddle if you call me on VHF channel 71. I'm guessing there'll be a few of the DP regulars out tommorow who will let you try their's too.
