: Tady AA and 9's are my favorite sizes. If I had to pick one lure and one lure only to use... It would be a #9.I LOVE casting Iron. I honestly feel they are one of the most versatile lures around. You can get hammerd on the drop, do a slow jerk and retreive for a wounded bait look, fast retreive for a Mack on the run approach, or simply jig up and down for everything from Rock Fish and Lings, to Monster Bass.Emphatically NO... They are not too big.Favorite colors:Blue Rim faded to white CenterGreen Rim to Yellow Faded to White CenterBrown to White Centerand for jigging for lings and rock fish... Purple faded to black in #9 or Bigger. But Never take a Knife to a gun fight. There is no sure bet so don't forget the fish traps, krokodiles, and live bait.Big Bait = Big FishRic
I love those irons. Another color I like is the black that fades into white. A deckhand out of Ensenada was hard at work trying to get me to part with it. I just couldn't do it. Though someone helped themself to it when the broke into my garage last year and stole all of my irons. I don't think they were fishermen, just some crackheads driving through suburbs, breaking into garages looking for ways to support their habit. Maybe they'll take up fishing....doubt it.
