I fish at Arrowhead down the hill from Big Bear. The most successful Lure I have used there for trout is the silver and black rapala's trolled on 18lb Leadcore. Broken backs and regular floaters work, but not as well as the sinking style. The sinking style also has a bigger dive plane which really gets them down.

I don't use the dinky ones either. Big fish eat big bait. I also only use 4lb pline leader.

I have a fire tiger, but it should be called the fire skunk for now. I keep going back to silver and black. Check out the video I shot of my son trolling Arrowhead:
