I'm not sure where you live. If you are in Southern California you might want to try out a Malibu Kayaks Pro Explorer. It has a front hatch that will swallow up an armload of 8ft rods with reels attached. It is super stable. You won't flip a Pro Explorer over by turning around to get somthing out of the tankwell. They have a dry ride. They are reasonably priced. They come well equipped and have a lifetime warranty. If I were looking for a fishing kayak from Cobra the Fish N Dive
would be my choice. They are big, true. But they are super stable, have a very dry ride, have lots of below deck storage with easy access, and have tons of room in the cockpit. Both of these kayaks make great fishing platforms. Just my .02
