I am not sure if you are looking for a boat type trailer, or actually a dolly.

I built a light and inexpensive dolly out of PVC pipe 1 1/2 variety for my canoe, and it doubles quite nicely for my yaks as well.

just went to home depot got some pvc, fittings, wheel barrel tires, and an axel, weighs maybe 30-35lbs and can mount over the yak on my roof rack.

google boat dolly and you might get some ideas.
