Btw, in my previous Central Cal Rockfish Opener post, I reported that I was being careful not to go over a 2 fish Red Vermilion limit. The last day up there, I was told that the limit was two. I felt I had stayed up to date with the current regs but thought I should play it safe when making the report.
In reading the regs once again on my return, it still seemed to read "more than two"(10 rockfish total: including but not limited to only 2 Reds), but just to be safe, I contacted the Marine Region when I got back from Central Cal. This was the response I received today:
"Sport anglers may possess up to 10 vermilion rockfish, fishing in less than 120 feet of water and within the 10 fish RCG (rockfish, cabezon, greenling) complex aggregate bag limit".
With the regs seeming to change more often the usual, doubt was easy to come by, lol. Though when in doubt, play it safe.
