I used to spend every summer down there.
water should be quite warm actually in a few weeks, low 70's
Cape may has great fishing, off some of the jetties down by the cove, you may have to fish before 10am after 6 when the lifeguards are gone.
bloodworms on small hooks with a floater for kingfish and spots
Spots can be used for blues/stripers/weakies
check with a local shop when you get there
havent fished there in the past few years, but night blue fishing trips used to be a blast. those things can pull, just not great eating, so dont keep too many, people turn down free bluefish..
get on a boat and go fish the rips for stripers.
i will be there for a week in early sept going to chase tuna on the noreaster.
Lots of day and half day boats for seabass (like rockfish), fluke and other wreck critters.
