: Can you provide info on where to launch from there? where to park, directions? I live in Torrance and know that it isn't far, San Pedro I think, correct? Thanks in advance. Greg: Launched at about 6.20 in zero surf. No other yaks were in sight. Traveller couldn't make it. The calico bass bite was good in the kelp and around the edges. I caught 4 calicos all legal including 2 in the 4-5lb range. Also caught a sub legal WSB about 24 inches. Sent him back to Neptune to finish school! The high point of the morning was a gigantic something which I fought for about 15-20 minutes, until it got completely in the kelp. My lack of expertise in pulling fish out of the kelp cost me the fish, but he gave me back my swimbait minus the tail. The 5-1/2" orange swimbait with sparkles and a yellow head seemed to be the preferred bait. I fished near a couple of powerboats, one was getting bit and the other one's comment was"Nada!" I got off the water at about 11 something when the breezes were starting up. It was abnormally hot out there today!

Just go south down the Harbor Fwy. and go to the end. At San Pedro you can get on Gaffey Street and go south to 22nd Street, Turn left on 22nd street and follow the signs to Cabrillo Museum. It costs $7 to get into the park. Drive past the museum and out onto the start of the breakwater. Turn right into the first parking lot next to the beach. Park as close as you can to the beach. You can drag your yak across the sand to the water. Go very early, later in the day the whole place is completely jammed on the weekends with beach people.
