Fished at Deep Hole on Sunday 7/20 from a chartered Sporty. Saw 4 Kayakers out there. Have not seen a report from them yet. There were 15 of us on the Charter, we stayed in one spot all day pretty much, Limits of Calicos, 4 Flatties (one was 14lbs. we were anchored and 4 halibut were landed by folks who have never cuaught Halibut before. Go figure. I tried to explain to them that it takes people years sometimes to catch a legal Halibut.), A bunch of short WSB, some Sandies, some rockfish, etc. The water was plentiful and the bite lasted all day, most fish were caught on live anchovies. I threw most of my Calicos back (breeder sized). It was a good day. Alot of variety in the water, especially for one spot. Will be launching there next time out. The boat is called the WE SEVEN out of Capt Hooks. Good Captain and a good crew, They treated us well and we caught alot of fish. If you ever need a charter (15 people max)look them up. They told me that WSB were being caught right out by Point Mugu (60ft water) a few days earlier.
