: You can make paddle hooks for your sin-in-kayak from pvc pipe. Simply cut a two inch wide ring off the end of a 4 inch piece of pvc. Now, from that ring, cut two pieces 3.5 inches long. Round the corners slightly. Using your paddle as a measure by placing it along one side against your cockpit cowling, make two marks near the ends of the handle. Using liquid nails, attach one hook....then, immediately drill through and use one pop rivit to hold it in place while the liquid dries. The liquid nails forms. a cradle for the holder. After the liquid nails has dried, go back and pop rivet two or more additional times to secure the holder well. I use 1/8 rivits and also used those little back up washers underneath. When both holders are secured, cut some carpet remnants into two inch strips. Using liquid nails again, slather the carped backing, jam the carpet with the liquid nails facing up - under the holder and bring it around the top and press down into the holder....I then run it about and inch past the holder onto the kayak hull before cutting. The carpeting makes the hooks work quietly and the hooks make a great place to set the paddle while fishing, yet handy when needed.
