: Friday - Launched Cabrillo with the information from Piranha. Definitely worth my time. Launched at 0530hrs to 1ft shore pounders, hit the kelp right in front and made bait (2 green macs). Slow trolled that whole kelpline south toward pv, no WSB but 2 corbina and a 2 short butts on plastics. Came back and joined 2 yaks for a fun time catching and releasing calicos, 1/2oz head with white/pearl blam.Saturday - Hit Malibu area with Defjack, 1 short butt, 1 croaker and lost a nice 80-90lb thresher. It was a blast though, almost spooled my calcutta and did some terrific full body jumps VERY close to us! I was trolling a plug along the bottom on 15lb test, and I first thought it was a nice butt, but then this thing just explodes up outta the water and scared the crap outta me!...lmao.Sunday - Hit Redondo with Defjack and Alex.....CRAP...2 sand bass in the harbor, horrible conditions out there - wind/chop/swell/gloomy.Harbor Freight has those 12v trickle chargers on sale for $8.80...they work great, compact, and won't over charge.Greg
Thanks for the report. The wind's definately picked up lately. I went out Sun am....pretty breezy. Wind swells and white caps before noon. You don't want to paddle home against that stuff if you can help it.
Glad to hear you got to experience some aerial action. Makes the battle more epic watching those get clear out of the water.
